Convert your civil partnership to a marriage

CONVERT YOUR CIVIL PARTNERSHIP TO A MARRIAGE

Decide How You would Like to Convert

Choose one of the following options:

  • At the Register Office (Legal Requirement): Complete the legal aspect of your conversion by signing a declaration in the presence of a registrar. This process does not include a ceremony, and your certificate is issued at the appointment.
  • With an Optional Ceremony: The declaration will be completed and printed to be signed on the day, if you have chosen to celebrate with a ceremony. Ceremonies can be held at one of the beautiful venues in Fellowship Square or any approved venue of your choice. The ceremony must take place within 1 year of the declaration being printed.
